WHO WE ARE

The Indian Sub-continental Club (ISC) at University of California, Irvine has been an influential and active non-profit student organization for over two decades. The goal of ISC is to unite the students of UC Irvine whose cultural roots come from that of the Indian Sub-continent: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Every year ISC holds numerous activities to spread cultural awareness and provide a place where students from similar backgrounds can meet and interact. It also provides an environment to stimulate cultural awareness through various ISC-sponsored activities and events, such as our Diwali party, Holi celebration, and Culture Show.

    Let's celebrate the Indian New Year.

    During the fall quarter ISC hosted an annual Diwali celebration where we provided traditional food, music, and celebrate the Indian new year.

    The Festival of Lights is always a fun and memorable event that bonds our members each year. Look out for details about ISC's Diwali event next year and check out photos from this year's event!

  • Holi
    Holi Celebration

    Every year during the Spring quarter, ISC hosts an event to celebrate Holi, the Indian festival of colors, on campus. Specific event details will be coming closer to April!


  • Banquet
    Our End of the Year Celebration

    Our FINAL event of the year in June! Open bar, dancing, and Indian food to celebrate the finishing of a great school year! Next year's board is announced here as well!

  • Culture Show
    Our biggest event of the spring quarter

    Culture show is one of the most popular events hosted by ISC, where hundreds of UCI students, regardless of ethnicity and dance experience, come together to put on a show celebrating Indian culture. Participating in culture show is a great way to learn about the traditions, heritage, and dances of India, as well as meet and bond with fellow ISC members. With dances ranging from Bharatanatyam, with classical southern Indian origins, to Fusion, which assimilates American and Indian cultures, there's something for everyone. An ISC membership is required to participate in culture show, and also comes with discounted entry to the after party, as well as various ISC events throughout the year!
